Has your property suffered flood damage?

You may qualify for the Emergency Response Payment.

The Emergency Response Payment (formerly the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme) provides short-term, immediate financial support to people whose homes are damaged by flooding or other severe weather events and who are not able to meet costs for essential needs, household items and, in some instances, structural repair. It is administered by the Community Welfare Service.

The payment helps meet the cost of essential needs and repairs rather than full compensation for losses or damage. The payment does not cover damage or losses that are insured under home insurance policies or would be reasonably expected to be insured.

Has your business, community, voluntary or sports organisation suffered flood damage?

You may be entitled to the Emergency Humanitarian Flooding Scheme.

This scheme aims to support small businesses and community, voluntary and sports organisations that have suffered flood damage as a direct result of a severe weather event. The Irish Red Cross acts as the administrator of the scheme on behalf of the department.

The scheme is available to small businesses of up to 20 employees (or wholetime equivalents), and community, voluntary and sports organisations who, through no fault of their own, have been unable to obtain insurance cover for flooding.

The funding provided by the scheme contributes towards the costs of restoring the premises of a business or voluntary, community or sports organisation to its original, pre-flood condition.

The funding may be used for the replacement of damaged flooring, fixtures, fittings, and stock if relevant. The maximum funding amount available through the scheme is up to €20,000 per small business or voluntary, community or sports organisation.
